![]() Still, I’m not going to rush into buying a triple AAA game. It seems to be rather large shift in direction in both game play and story and that may be a problem for some people but for me coming in fresh everything seems okay. I must state that I have never played a God of War game before and I am aware that there has been some, discontent amongst the fan base in regards to this game. ![]() ![]() But it’s an intriguing trailer and the imagery that is does show certainly does carry that uniqueness that From Software has cultivated over the years with the Souls series and Bloodborne. I would love to see those things but it’s very early days right now and it is what it is. The only thing we have to go off is a very short trailer that features nothing in the way of game play or extended game footage. However that being said Shadows Die Twice is a mystery right now. Seeing that From Software label in the box gives me a great amount of confidence. Shadows Die Twice: After roughly 400 or perhaps it was 500 hours in Bloodborne and round about 300 hours (it’s probably more) in Dark Souls III From Software are a developer that I have the utmost trust and faith in. Because everything else is looking pretty damn good. There will be a loot system and I really do dislike those but if everything else is good I should be able to push past that. The idea of a Nordic Souls esque game appeals to me greatly and when that comes to pass with that graphical style I’ll be very happy. The movement in an isometric environment looked good, and smooth (framerate aside) and the artwork is a beautiful as the first released screen shots. The combat has that impact and sound that I am fond of in a Soulslike. But the game play I saw appealed to me a whole lot (once I got past the framerate). A heads up: the footage was recorded on not the best lap top due to technological foibles, hence that frame rate. Semi-recently, the developers released a 20-minute video of game play footage. But the two-man development team have not given up on it, and they are endeavouring to bring the game out for all of us. Originally announced in 2015, development has been a little bit spotty. Been a long road so far, and there is a good chance that it is going to be an even longer road (pandemics and all that).įor those who are unaware, Eitr is a pixel art Soulslike with a distinct Nordic flair. I wrote about Eitr last.2 years ago, in a blog post called Games I’m looking forward to playing (In this year or the next). It’s Alive!: Eitr is still a thing, which is nice.
